City Council Approves Concept Design

City Council Approves
Concept Design

January 10, 2019

Following a 12-1 vote, La Crosse City Council approved a concept design that expands the La Crosse Center to the west in the direction of Riverside Park, without extending into the park.

Now that the concept design is approved, architects will begin the schematic design phase. During that time, architects will discuss more specific goals and project requirements. While they continue to evaluate what the design will entail, they’ll consider a variety of areas and how it will affect the $42 million budget, including; the demolition and rebuilding of the North Hall, along with the addition of meeting rooms, an atrium, an outdoor balcony, and lobby with concessions and restrooms connecting to the South Hall and the expansion.
